I would however avoid another trip such as this as I would make it a point to only chose a tour with English speaking guides only. For the price and time spent, this was an OK tour.”

“The castle itself is amazing but the location is the truly astounding part. We kept commenting on how it looked too perfect, almost fake. But it was indeed real. A castle with views of the mountains and a mountain gorge with pool, but also a lake and beautiful, rolling, green farmlands. It was beyond stunning. It was truly a fabulous experience. We also chose to see the smaller Hohenschwangau castle and that was also lovely with breathtaking views. We are a family of 6 with 4 kids aged 3-18. The 3 year old loved neuschwanstein though she mostly wanted to go into non-permitted rooms. And she was starting to lose…”

It is quite touristy so gets pretty crowded. Salzburg is also very nice - but it poured while we were there so we didn’t really get to explore it as much as we wanted.”

So we were able to take many pictures of the absolutely magnificent views - from the scenic drive, to post-card-perfect Hallstatt, to the "hills are alive" mountains of Dachstein and the glaciers and lake views at Gosau. Our guide, Luciano, was so warm and friendly. He went out of his way to accommodate the seniors and child in our group. He was also very knowledgeable. If I could, I would give this tour 10 stars!”
